Lessons first, then practice
Each lesson explains one idea in a few short paragraphs, then puts it to work right away.
Each lesson teaches one idea first. Then your practice comes back right before you'd forget it, so the effort you put in turns into Spanish you keep.
Increscent Learning does both jobs. It explains a little, has you practice it, and brings it back at the right time. It's built for adults (18+) learning on their own, in 20 minutes a day, or longer for intensive learning.
Each lesson explains one idea in a few short paragraphs, then puts it to work right away.
What you get right comes back less and less often. What you miss comes back sooner.
Once you know something well, the only question left for it is the hardest one: a straight translation, no hints. That keeps your review short.
Add words from a lesson, verb forms included, or write your own flashcards. They join the same schedule.
AI writes the course. Claude, an AI from Anthropic, writes the lessons and practice. A second Claude reviews every lesson before it goes in. Jill Stapleton oversees the course. She works with Claude on how lessons and practice questions are designed, and reviews lessons herself.
Built on learning science. We're building on what learning science shows about memory: practice comes back right before you'd forget it, and each question aims for the sweet spot of difficulty, hard enough to make you think, not so hard you stall. We're striving for learning that's as effective and efficient as it can be. When something comes back, and how hard the question is, depends on how you've answered. That's set by plain rules, not AI. More on the science in our Learning Toolkit.
A tutor reads your progress. Claude reviews your answers between sessions. It writes you short notes, adjusts what comes next and adds extra practice where you're struggling. It isn't a live chat. It's more like a teacher marking your work and leaving notes for next time.
We ask for your consent up front. The tutor is part of how the app works, so agreeing to it is required to use Increscent Learning. If you'd rather not learn with AI, that's completely fine, but this app isn't the right fit.
Explain a little. Practice it. Bring it back at the right time.
Everyday Mexican Spanish, from absolute zero up to about intermediate (A2). Short written lessons, then typed practice: multiple choice, matching, fill-in-the-blank, sentence building and translation. Conversation is the goal; speaking practice isn't built yet.
¿Hablas español? Pronto: inglés para hispanohablantes.
